27. player. 124. The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t far from being a legitimate contender for a Super Bowl title. But you can see from the last two playoff trips that QB Alex Smith has reached his ceiling. He’s just a safe, solid guy that will keep the offense on schedule and not mess things up.

They Chiefs have a pretty good defense but it is that good to where they’ll hold the score way down. So they need a QB that get them over the top and Smith just isn’t the guy to do that. I seriously doubt he’ll ever throw for over 5,000 yards and 40 TDs or carry his team to victory.

As long as he’s the starting QB, the Chiefs will be a good measuring stick in the AFC. All the great teams will beat them but the teams that aren’t quite ready yet won’t. So at No. 27 overall, the Chiefs take Deshaun Watson, a dynamic QB that could carry a team one day.

He has lots to learn but Andy Reid is the kind of QB whisperer that can teach it to him. He can throw it, he can run, he can carry a team on his back and has great poise. The Chiefs would become perennial contenders once Reid developed Watson into what he can become.
. QB. Clemson. Deshaun Watson
