player. 42. The San Francisco 49ers are going to be better than most football fans think in 2017. New HC Kyle Shanahan brought some talent in, signing WRs Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin. QB Brian Hoyer is an underrated signing and the O-line just got better with C Jeremy Zuttah. <p>On defense, ILB Navorro Bowman is still a big-time playmaker but has to stay healthy this year. If they can get EGDE Aaron Lynch to play like he did in 2015, the 49ers will put heat on the QB. Plus they have trees Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner back to bring it inside.</p> <p>The 49ers are pretty solid at CB too with Tramaine Brock but need help on the back end. They’re going to that Seattle Seahawks style defense with mainly cover-3 and cover-1. So they need an FS with range and ball skills to get turnovers and Malik Hooker is definitely that guy.</p> <p>He’s rehabbing an injury so he couldn’t test this offseason but you can see his range on tape. GM John Lynch knows a great FS when he sees one and won’t be able to resist Hooker here. The 49ers have already cut S Antoine Bethea to make room for him on the roster. </p>. S. Ohio State.
