It was bombs over Baghdad in the Saints secondary last year and it cost them a few games. So with their second pick in the first round via the Patriots, they continue to tighten up the secondary. A versatile, dynamic S with range, man coverage skills and the ability to play in the box would work.

Jabrill Peppers has that skill set but we didn’t get to see it much because he was stuck at LB, That isn’t the position for him so he had a bad year last year so scouts are down on him. But Peppers should be getting high marks for taking one for the team knowing scouts were watching.

It shows you that he’s willing to do something he’s not comfortable doing to help the team win. It’s also shows how versatile his skill set he has and how he’ll make a great S in the NFL. Running a 4.47 in the 40, Peppers has great instincts to create the kind of range he need as a single high S.

And to go with that, Peppers can play in the slot or even outside on the island as a CB. Peppers is a heck of a football player and the Saints would get a steal here to load up their secondary. This pick would complete a haul for the Saints that could get them back in the NFC South hunt.
. S. Michigan. Jabrill Peppers. 32. player. 15
