2017 NFL Mock Draft: Free Agency Settling Down
A great defense and running game would help Bortles stop trying to do too much. Improving the O-line by trading for Branden Albert and signing OG Earl Watford in free agency should help. They’ve added Calais Campbell in free agency but need help on the edge to build a dominant defense..
So here at No. 4 overall in the 2017 NFL, the Jaguars grab Solomon Thomas out of Stanford. He’s ready to go in and dominate at base end from the minute he goes to Jacksonville. And the Jaguars would have a dominant defense from the minute they picked him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars need QB Blake Bortles to step his game up for the team to have success. The defense looked like it was coming together quite well in 2016 and they have additions. This offseason, they added CB A.J. Bouye, S Barry Church and DT Calais Campbell to the unit.
Bortles just has to stop giving the defense short fields to defend due to his turnovers. He already has weapons around him with WRs Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson on his offense. Perhaps Chris Ivory will decide to start earning the big contract the Jaguars gave him last offseason.
