D’Onta Foreman looks as much like a first-round talent as anyone his this draft class. But he somehow doesn’t have the universal first-round grade or hype.

The 2017 NFL Draft class is very strong at the RB position with three universal first-round talents. Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffrey are those guys. We hear Alvin Kamara’s name come up every once in awhile in first-round discussion but that’s it.

One name that we should but don’t hear come up when it comes to RBs in the first round is D’Onta Foreman. In 2016, Foreman carried the ball 323 times for 2,028 yards and seven TDs. And it was a consistent 2,000-yards season as he didn’t get shut down last year.

In Foreman’s worst game of the 2016 season, he had 24 carries 124 yards. He out-rushed Fournette, Cook and McCaffrey but still didn’t get the hype the other RBs got. And the Texas Longhorn showed everything you want to see in an RB prospect.

At 6’0″, 237 pounds, he has the size you want to take the pounding a bell-cow RB takes. With that size, Foreman has great power, vision, patience and agility to make defenders miss. He’s fast on tape but since he didn’t run the 40 at the combine, some questioned.

However, Foreman emphatically answered that question with a 4.44 40 at his Pro Day. He also caught the ball well in pass-catching drills as he didn’t do much pass-catching at Texas. Fournette checked in at the combine three pounds heavier and ran a 4.5 40.

And all we heard about was how fast that is for such a big man as if that were truly special. But all I heard was crickets after Foreman ran his a 4.44, which is better the Fournette McCaffrey and Cook. Foreman should get more hype for how good of a prospect he is.
