Jamal Adams has always been one of the top draft prospects this year. What he did at his Pro Day shows you just who he is.
From the beginning of this draft season, former LSU S Jamal Adams has been high on draft boards. He’s so dynamic on tape, he would have to try to bomb his physical testing not to get picked high. He didn’t do that, running a 4.56 40 at the 2017 NFL Scouting combine.
That’s a good time for a safety plus Adams plays very fast on the football field. So he was already a top-10 pick that could very well go in the top five. But Adams wants to leave his best out there and wouldn’t settle for the 4.56 he ran at the combine.
Tuesday, he participated in LSU’s Pro Day to let the scouts know who he really is. An injury or not being able to function on the three hours of sleep a the combine could be factors. But Adams knew he was faster than 4.56 and couldn’t allow himself to be known for that.
So be blazed a 4.33 at the Pro Day to show he has plenty of speed to go with his skill set. He not only showed that he was fast but he showed that he isn’t satisfied with anything short of his best. I’m not sure it upped his draft stock because it’s already high.
But it’s nice to see a competitor want to do his best.
RB Leonard Fournette should have ran his again after losing 12 pounds.
