At 6’6″, 277 pounds with long arms, former Michigan DE Taco Charlton looks the part. D-line coaches in a 4-3 system want a guy with that kind of length to keep blockers off of him. He also has a quick first step and continues with plenty of burst around the corner on an OT.
He didn’t have the greatest day at the NFL Scouting Combine running his 40 in the 4.9s. But at Michigan’s Pro Day, he confirmed his quick first step and burst, running in the 4.7s. Charlton converts speed to power pretty well, enabling him to generate force on a bull rush too.
