Instead of depending on size to catch the ball over opposing CBs, Brown gets separation with his route running. Ross plays the game the same way except he has ridiculous speed to go with it. The Philadelphia Eagles already have the big, jump-ball WR in Alshon Jeffery.

So a smaller guy that can get separation on the other side would be good for QB Carson Wentz. The Eagles can use a CB but can get a starter in this deep class as late as the third round. So they get young franchise QB Carson Wentz another weapon he can work with.

Former Washington WR John Ross is already the fastest player in the NFL today over 40 yards. His 4.22 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine was the fastest ever at the event. But he should not be labeled as a track man or a fast guy that’s trying to play football.

Ross is a great football player that happens to have once-in-a-generation type of speed. The NFL looks for guys that are 6’2″ and above and over 210 pounds to pick early in the draft. But the best receiver in the NFL is Antonio Brown at 5’11”, 188 pounds, the same size as Ross.
