42. Jamal Adams is everything you want in a S after running a 4.56 at the NFL Scouting Combine. Then he ran a 4.33 at his Pro Day and to add to how special he is. Adams is already instinctive, physical, a reliable tackler and has plenty of range and ball skills.

And what he’s known most for at LSU is his work ethic and leadership qualities. He’s a tempo setter that keeps the players around him on top of the task. He’s also versatile, able to play in the box, single high, cover the slot or even out on the island.

The speed he displayed at his pro day tells you he definitely has the makeup speed to play outside. But the 49ers will likely use his speed and range at FS in their defense. They will be running cover-1 and cover-3, requiring a S with a lot of range.

The 49ers have drafted well of late on the D-line and have Navorro Bowman at ILB. If Aaron Lynch can return to his 2015 form, they’ll have a solid defense. We’ll see how QB Brian Hoyer and WRs Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin to help the offense.
. S. LSU. Jamal Adams. 2. player
