Cleveland Browns Can’t Make up for Carson Wentz
Rumor has it that the Cleveland Browns are considering taking QB Mitchell Trubisky at No. 1 overall. But they can’t make up for missing on Wentz with him.
The Cleveland Browns are still kicking themselves for not taking Carson Wentz last year. And now, they’re considering taking Mitchell Trubisky at No. 1 overall to make up for it. But the Browns need to let it go and because this is a new year with new QBs.
They can’t measure it by how Wentz and Dallas Cowboys fourth-round Dak Prescott pick did last year. Trubisky is not as good or as ready as those guys are after 13 starts in the NFL. If this was a good class of QBs coming out, Trubisky would have went back to school.
Plus we really don’t know how good Wentz and Prescott are with what they had around them. They both had elite offensive lines and Prescott had Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield. So you can’t really say these QBs lifted their teams out of the cellar.
I still have concern over Prescott going, “Read 1, Read 2, run.” last year and how he grows from that. The Browns might want to look at the Stanford game and that Georgia game again. They run pro style defenses and Trubisky didn’t have a clue what they were doing.
The interceptions he threw came on plays that it didn’t look like he expected a defender to be there. Myles Garrett is as sure as they get and will help you right now. Trubisky isn’t even ready to play right away so getting him won’t save anyone’s job.
You can get a Trubisky or a QB just as good at No. 12 overall.
Actually you can find one in the second round!
Let it go, Wentz is in Philadelphia!
