2nd Round (No. 43)- Howard Wilson, CB, Houston

Houston’s Howard Wilson is flying under the radar at this point in the process but is a strong prospect. He features excellent ball skills and the ability to create turnovers. Wilson also has solid size for the position which is a plus.

The Eagles lack a true No. 1 cornerback and depth at the position. They could realistically add two or three cornerbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft. Philadelphia not only needs depth but young players with upside.

Wilson would represent an upgrade and give the Eagles a potential starter opposite Jalen Mills. Worst case scenario, he would slot in as the No 3 corner on this roster.

If the Eagles decide to use their 1st round pick on a cornerback then this would be a prime spot for a running back. Some of the names that could be available include Alvin Kamara, Joe Mixon and D’Onta Foreman.

Mixon is the most talented of that group but also comes with a ton of baggage. The Eagles organization has made controversial moves in the past like signing Michael Vick. They might be a group willing to take a chance on Mixon’s upside as a player.

Based on pure talent, Mixon is one of the top-20 players available in this draft class.
