Malik Hooker. 7. player. 13. Gus Bradley has taken over as the DC of the Los Angeles Chargers so you should know what that means. He’s bringing the same defense with him that he took from the Seattle Seahawks to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We’re going to see the Chargers running cover-1 and cover-3 all day.
The front-seven is already covered with EDGEs Melvin Ingram Joey Bosa getting after opposing QBs. To be successful running that kind of defense, the Chargers will need a S that has a lot of range. Former Ohio State S Malik Hooker is the ideal fit here with the instincts, range and ball skills he has.

ILBs Jatavis Brown and Denzel Perryman will be there to regulate in the middle of their defense. Then you have solid CBs over there that will be back healthy after getting ravaged by injuries last year. Hooker would lurk on the back end of that defense for opposing QBs that make mistakes.

The Chargers lost a lot of close games last year because the defense gave up leads. QB Philip Rivers will be back to lead an explosive offense with RB Melvin Gordon balancing things out. Of the teams at the top of the draft, the Chargers would most likely make the playoffs with this pick.
. S. Ohio State
