65. Teez Tabor, Cornerback, Florida
Two corners back to back might be a little confusing for some especially with Joe Haden still on the team, but Cleveland needs to keep swinging on this position until they get it right.
Going back to rankings during the season, Tabor was one of the top corners on the board. Many analyst had him as a top ten talent with the worst grades putting him somewhere in the low twenty’s. old school scouts would say the tape doesn’t lie and that Tabor is worth the pick, but with a new system in place putting more emphasis on combine grading, Tabor falls out of grace with many scouts.
In limited space, Tabor is a great cover man. He has great field vision and good ball tracking skills. He recently blew the forty time at the NFL scouting Combine with a 4.65. Given another chance at Florida’s pro day he ran worse, making him fall to the third round. Tabor will have to work on his personal skills in this process, with some scouts pointing out that Tabor can come off a little arrogant at times. While some other scouts question his work ethic and how his forty time could actually drop in a period where his only job is to prepare for testing.
With his in game mental skill set, Tabor is a player that can overcome those slow times to give Cleveland a player that can sure up a shaky defensive backfield. He is a great value at this pick and the Browns would love to grab him at a reduced cost.
