53. With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select former Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett. Despite all the madness we’ve heard, we should know that this will be the pick. There is nothing that you want in an edge rusher that the young man doesn’t have.

Garrett is 6’5″, 270 pounds with 35-inch-long arms, he looks every bit the part of an edge rusher. He dropped his 40 down to 4.57 at his Pro Day after he ran a 4.64 at the combine. He also has a 41-inch vertical leap and 33 reps of 225 to his credit to show how freaky he is.

The Cleveland Browns would be foolish to pass on a prospect with this kind of natural talent and skill. They can use a talent like Barrett to help change the fortunes of the franchise. He’ll be joining a defense that has fellow freak athlete Emmanuel Ogbah on the other edge.

Garrett will also have DT Danny Shelton and OLB Jamie Collins on that front-seven with him. All the Browns need is a healthy Joe Haden at CB and another piece in the secondary to shut teams down. The Browns have a solid offensive line now so we’ll see what the QBs over there can do.
. DE. Texas A&M. Myles Garrett. 1. player
