ILB. Florida. Jarrad Davis. 21. player. 50. With the No. 21 over pick in the draft, the Detroit Lions select former Florida ILB Jarrad Davis. At 6’1″, 238 pounds, Davis is an absolute man in the middle that hits anything that moves in there. He treats 330-pound guards the same way he treats 220 pound ball carriers.
You can hear the sound of the collision and Davis is usually the one that gets up from it first. The Lions can definitely use a man in the middle like that as Stephen Tulloch retired last week. The Lions gave up 4.4 yards per carry on the ground last year with him in there.

DE Ezekiel Ansah, who played injured last year, will be back healthy to disrupt the QB off the edge. Breakout star Kerry Ryder will be be back to bring the heat off the opposite edge. It will be interesting to see what 2016 second-round DT A’Shawn Robinson can do inside.

The secondary is solid behind CB Darius Slay and Ss Glover Quin and Tavon Wilson too. Matthew Stafford his playing his best football right now and has the Lions’ offense rolling. So if the Lions bring a complete defense in 2017, they could very well win the NFC North in 2017.
