25. player. 10. With the No. 25 overall pick in the draft, the Houston Texans select former Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer. Kizer is 6’4″, 233 pounds, has a rocket arm and plenty of athleticism for his size. He sometimes falters on his mechanics, which leads to inaccurate throws but the upside is there.

And in a year that none of these quarterbacks are ready to play now, you should go for upside. That’s why I have Kizer, my No. 1 QB prospect in the draft, going here to the Texans. Kizer’s upside is right there with Patrick Mahomes while he may have the highest floor of them all too.

Kizer is the only one of the top QB prospects that has any experience in a pro style offense. Along with Deshaun Watson, he’s one of the only ones with the responsibilities of checks at the line of scrimmage. The rest of them turn to the sideline and get the play from the coach.

Things like that will make it easier for HC Bill O’Brien to teach Kizer his extremely complex offense. Plus he already has a connection with 2016 first-round WR Will Fuller from their days at Notre Dame. This may take a year of development but the Texans are a QB away from contending.
. QB.
