CB. Ohio State. Marshon Lattimore. 6. player. 30. With the No. 6 overall pick in the draft, the New York Jets take former Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore. There has been a lot of talk about QBs like Trubisky lately but I doubt that happens. The Jets took Christian Hackenberg in the second round in 2016 to develop him into a starter.

This class of QBs is no reason to come off that plan so they can pick a great prospect here. Lattimore is the next shutdown CB that will follow the opponent’s best WR. At 6’0″, 193 pounds with 31 1/4-inch-long arms, he has the size and length for press coverage.

He has the feet and hips to play off coverage and running a 4.36 40, he has makeup speed. Lattimore can also defend the jump ball well with his 38-inch vertical leap, HC Todd Bowles loves to blitz all day and play man coverage behind it, putting pressure on his corners.

And he just released one of the greatest press-man-coverage CBs of his generation in Darrelle Revis. Lattimore would go in, handle everything very well and have a big, immediate impact. So as Lattimore fills in for Revis, he’ll allow the Jets to keep playing that style of defense,
