RB Legend Adrian Peterson signed with the New Orleans Saints Tuesday. So after seeing what a player of his caliber got this offseason, Marshawn Lynch knows what his market value is.

Awhile back, former Seattle Seahawks RB legend Marshawn Lynch was considering a comeback. Then he got permission from the Seahawks to talk to the Raiders about that comeback. Shortly after, he made it known to the Raiders that he wanted to come back.

And after that, all the focus went to how a trade from the Seahawks, who still have his rights, would go down. But there was one minute detail many forgot and that’s the money Lynch would make. And you got it, that’s the issue Lynch and the Raiders are stuck on.

Lynch was due to make $9 million before he retired from the NFL last year. And the Raiders are willing to pay him a third of that at $3 million and some change. Lynch wanted at least half of it at $4.5 million but the Raiders wanted no part of that.

There’s nothing like a similar player signing a contract to set the market for the player. And it sounds like Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie was right as Adrian Peterson signed for two years, $7 million. That’s $3.5 million a year, right around what McKenzie had in mind.

So now, the ball is in Lynch’s court as he likely won’t get anymore from anywhere else. He worked out and stayed in shape throughout his retirement and either wants to play or not. If he waits until after the draft, his offer amounts will go down, not up.

Quit playin’ and let’s do this, Marshawn!
