13. Arizona Cardinals- Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech

Mahomes’ arm talent is undeniable, but I just don’t see someone who understands how to play the quarterback position. His rawness is one reason why he makes sense for the Arizona Cardinals who have both Bruce Arians and Carson Palmer.

Arians has a strong track record of putting his quarterback in a position to succeed. His work with Ben Roethlisberger is the best example. In fact, Mahomes reminds me a lot of Roethlisberger with his size and arm strength.

14. Philadelphia Eagles- Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

The Eagles are painfully thin at the cornerback position and could realistically add three during this draft. Marlon Humphrey is a bit of a project but his combination of size and speed give him a ton of upside.

Personally, I have Humphrey as a late 1st-round prospect but it’s not much of a stretch to slot him here.

Gareon Conley would’ve been the pick here had he not had a recent run-in with the law. That situation will take time to sort itself out and will likely cost Conley a lot of money.

15. Indianapolis Colts- Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

I have no idea how Reuben Foster’s off-field concerns will impact his draft stock. It wouldn’t be a major shock if he slipped out of the 1st round entirely. However, this is an exceptional football player who should make an immediate impact.

The Colts need a tone-setter on defense and someone capable of leading the unit. Foster is that guy who can make the calls on the field and deliver punishing hits.
