Oakland Raiders Mock Draft: Fixing the Defense
The Oakland Raiders are in a great position to strengthen some weakness on their team. And this mock draft is one way they can get that done.
The Oakland Raiders are going into this draft in as good a situation as there can be. They have one of the best offenses in the NFL with franchise QB Derek Carr under center. Of course, he balled last year, throwing the ball to WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.
Carr had the best offensive line in football protecting him and opening running lanes last year too. He’ll be back with them and newly added WR/KR Cordarrelle Patterson and TE Jared Cook. I believe sometime before the draft, the Raiders will sign Marshawn Lynch too.
So the Raiders just need help on defense and this draft is loaded on that side. You always here Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie say, “We’re going to take the best player on the board. And most of the time when his turn comes this year, the best player will be a defensive player.
So for more reasons than one, we can expect the Raiders to have a defensive draft. You can get starters up to the fourth round on the defensive side of the ball in this draft. You can get a diamond in the rough in the later rounds of this draft to.
That bodes very well for the Raiders tightening things up to become contenders.
