2. player. 28. After a horrible start to the season, Sean Smith played very well so I expect more of that this year. I also expect fellow CB David Amerson to return to his 2015 form after having a so-so 2016. But that doesn’t mean the Raiders can’t use another CB. particularly one that can cover the slot.
At 5’10”, 200 pounds, Jalen Myrick is that guy as he has lightning feet and fluidity to mirror WRs. He’s also strong and has long arms for his size, making him just as effective in press coverage. And with that skill set, he has allowed a completion rate of just 39 percent over the last two years.

Myrick also has 4.28 40 speed that would very much be useful to the Raiders immediately. Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin and Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill are blazers in the slot. And they have plenty of suddenness to go with that speed to make them difficult matchups.

But Myrick has the short-area quickness, the long speed, and the fluidity to stay with WRs like that. A big CB like Smith have no business matched up on WRs like that and won’t be anymore. Myrick’s immediate impact makes for a big improvement in the Raiders pass defense with his matchup ability.
. CB. Minnesota. Jalen Myrick
