With the twenty first pick the Miami Dolphins select Charles Harris to shore up their pass rush

The Dolphins had a lot of people thinking they would take Forrest Lamp with this pick. With coach Adam Gase looking to get better on the line, Lamp made sense at this pick. Recently some analyst had them going pass rusher, bu this pick seemed out of the blue.

With a high efficiency defense and Cameron Wake turning thirty five this year the Dolphins decided that getting a pass with high production was a must.

Harris was an elite pass rusher at Missouri last season with nine sacks. Charles had a slew of quarterback hurries, Harris was a quarterback killer. He also had extremely good tackle numbers for an edge rusher, coming in at sixty one tackles for the season. Harris didn’t give up on plays and was better than average against the run. Harris was a bright spot in an otherwise mediocre Missouri Team.

The Dolphins were a playoff team last season with the defensive line being the catalyst to the sucess of the team. Pairing Harris with Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh being All-Pro level players Harris adds to a line that will be unstoppable.

Some scouts were concerned about combine numbers being less than ideal for a player at the next level. His speed and strength didn’t test ideal, however he showed the ability to move laterally. Harris will have to spend some time in the weight rook to be ready for the season. At the end of the day Miami decided the tape doesn’t lie and Harris gave them great value at twenty one.
