You can see an identity starting to form on the Jacksonville Jaguars offense. The Jaguars followed up picking RB Leonard Fournette by pick OT Cam Robinson.

When V.P. of football operations Tom Coughlin took over, the Jacksonville Jaguars stopped playing. Coughlin started by putting the finishing touches on his defense in free agency. The Jaguars defense wasn’t bad in 2016 so the unit will be outstanding in 2017.

To go with that defense, the Jaguars are now ready to build up a physical running game. There’s nothing like a physical RB to go hand in hand with a solid defense. So in the first round, they took RB Leonard Fournette, a stud, to take the running game into the future.

In order for that pick to pay off, the Jaguars need to put an offensive line around him. QB Blake Bortles needs better pass protection but that O-line needs to run block better too. So picking Cam Robinson in the second round is a good follow-up to Fournette.

Robinson is a first-round talent that took a little slide to the Jaguars in the second round. And at 6’6″, 322 pounds, he is a mauler, a road-grader in the running game. With Branden Albert now a an AWOL Jaguar, it will be interesting to see where Robinson will play.

He’s big, strong and enough of a knee-bender to play OG if Albert Shows up at some point. If not, Robinson can play left tackle as he did at Alabama, stopping players like Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett. The Jaguars just got a solid O-lineman for the run and pass.

But more than anything, he’s a big mauler that helps give the Jaguars offense a physical identity.
