Cleveland Gets the most versatile player in the draft
With the 25th pick in the draft, the Browns get the most versatile player. Jabrill Peppers in a Hybrid saftey/linebacker, that can give you help up front or in coverage.
Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams needs a player in Cleveland to mirror the player he had in Mark Barron in LA. Peppers can come up and play the will linebacker and move back to strong safety in sub packages. He also has the athletic ability to play the center field type free safety position. With the Browns giving up most of their touchdowns on big plays over 25 yards last season, Peppers can sure up the secondary.
Peppers also provides good coverage against tight ends. Cleveland got killed by Tyler Eifert and Dennis Pitta last season. Peppers can lock those players down and swing games back in Cleveland’s favor. His athletic testing is through the roof, he owned the combine with top percentile numbers.
Peppers can also provide and solid returning, giving Coach Chris Tabor the return man that he has desperately needed over the past couple seasons. He has the speed to burn and the twitch to make people miss.
Jabrill will need to get better at tracking balls. he had only one interception last season and it was on a tipped ball. He will need to show that he is clean given that he failed a drug test at the combine with a diluted sample.
Cleveland needs a lot of help and a player like Peppers plugs a lot of holes.
