Bottom Line

The Raiders are very confident that the rape accusations against him will not hold up. And since he hasn’t been arrested or charged, we can plan on him playing for now. That takes us to on the field, where he is the perfect pick for the Raiders at No. 24 overall.

His size, length, speed and fluidity will help him become a shutdown CB in man coverage. Conley’s speed and instincts that combine for incredible range will help him shut down his side of the field in zone. When it comes to pass coverage, there’s nothing he doesn’t have.

One criticism is he doesn’t use that darn-near left tackle arm length to put his hands on receivers enough. I agree that he should use those long arms that God gave him more often than he does. Being able to touch a WR from that distance gives a CB an unfair advantage.

Another criticism I agree with is his tackling but it’s not because he’s unwilling to tackle. He actually needs to break down and zero in because he looks for kill shots. But again, Conley is the perfect pick for the Raiders with everything he is bringing!
