Bottom LIne

I can’t talk enough about how perfect of a pick the Raiders made in Round 2 with Melifonwu. There isn’t a box that he doesn’t check off as far as his talent and the Raiders’ needs go. Again, he was the best player available at a need that fits the Raiders scheme.

He’s a freak athlete that’s a first-round talent and I still can’t figure out what made him fall to the second. He has it in him to be a big hitter he doesn’t have the mentality to do so yet. However, he’s still useful he is a good tackler, which is most important.

Melifonwu is great for the running game and also covers the TE well while lined up in the box. And his combination of size, height, length, strength, speed and leaping ability will serve him well. He’s going to be that guy the takes pass-catching TEs out of the game.

If you have big WR, Melifonwu has something for him too. He can also take the single-high spot with the range he has when Joseph covers the slot. Along with Joseph at S and Conley and Smith at the CBs, Melifonwu will complete the secondary, making him the perfect pick.
