atlanta falcons. 31. team. 44. The Atlanta Falcons are another one of those teams that are explosive on offense. Their defense just cost them the Super Bowl so this year’s draft was a good draft for them. And the Falcons took advantage of it, picking DE Takkarist McKinley in the first round.
McKinley has a great motor, toughness and burst off the edge so he will make an immediate impact. In the second round, the Falcons drafted ILB Duke Riley who’s not rated as high as he should be. He played very well in 2016 but many count his one year of starting against him.

In the third round, the Falcons decided to take OG Sean Harlow to shore up the team’s O-line. Harlow is a solid pass protector and fits the Falcon’s zone blocking scheme, having run it at Oregon State. So he will likely start as the Falcons need to do a better job of protecting franchise QB Matt Ryan.

The rest of this draft is depth for the Falcons, who came out of it with a good haul. The NFC South is getting strong with the Panthers, Buccaneers and Saints getting so much better. I’m not sure who wins it but the winner could be the team that goes to the Super Bowl.
. — A.
