The roster building portion of the NFL offseason is basically finished which makes it time to layout this year’s first NFL Power Rankings.

We have officially entered the slow part of the NFL calendar. The big roster moves have been made, the draft is over and OTAs are just around the corner. This means that we can start looking at NFL Power Rankings.

The draft and free agency period offered several teams a chance to make significant improvements. Those teams among the most active include the New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars. Both have added enough talent to say they are playoff contenders.

Last year’s playoff teams made smaller moves to strengthen their rosters. The New England Patriots had the made the most rosters changes of that group. They added the explosive Brandin Cooks to the offense but lost key defenders like Logan Ryan and Jabaal Sheard.

The Atlanta Falcons brought in some key defensive pieces in Dontari Poe and Takkarist McKinley. They are hoping that both players will take that unit to the next level.

As we head towards OTAs and training t here will be a few situations that impact these rankings. Every year, we see a few big-name players get injured during offseason workouts. The hope is every team can make it to the regular season with all their pieces in place.
