  • The NFC East is going to be a fun division to watch as all four teams have enough talent to challenge for a playoff spot. Carson Wentz’s develop is what will drive the Philadelphia Eagles forward or hold them back.

Philadelphia used the offseason to add some nice weapons to help Wentz. Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith are veteran pass catchers who will bring stability to the position. However, Jeffery’s health issues and Smith’s drops could be troublesome.

I was surprised that the Eagles didn’t do anything to bolster their running game. Their depth chart at the position has changed from last season with Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles at the top. The one addition, rookie Donnel Pumphrey, is similar to Sproles and will only have a limited role.

Philadelphia’s defense has a chance to wreak some havoc this year. Their pass rush will be aided by the addition of Derek Barnett. The rookie is a savvy pass rusher who had tons of production throughout his college career.

Defensively, the Eagles need someone at the cornerback position to step up. They lack both depth and high end talent at the spot. The concerns at cornerback could keep this defense from being one of the better groups in the league.
