Seattle is banking on free agent signee Luke Joeckel and rookie Ethan Pocic making a major impact. Both players have a great chance to open the season as starters along the offensive line.
Improved offensive line play will also play a major role in the effectiveness of the running game. Seattle has plenty of running back options with Eddie Lacy, C.J. Prosise, Thomas Rawls and Alex Collins. A more consistent ground attack will go a long way to keeping this offense moving.
The defense is primed to have another strong year, but the Richard Sherman trade rumors could cause some continuity problems. They also need Earl Thomas to return to full health as his absence late in the season was an issue.
Home field in the playoffs is important for all teams, but more so for the Seahawks. This means they can’t afford to have major bumps during the regular season.
