Ezekiel Elliott is the Dallas Cowboys’ and NFL’s leading man in merchandising!

Coming in and balling right away, making a big impact, is what every rookie in the NFL wants to do. And Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott did that in a big way as a rookie in 2016. The NFL MVP candidate had 1,631 rushing yards with 15 TDs and one more receiving.

You’re obviously going to create a sensation or buzz for yourself when you ball like that as a rookie. But it enters another stratosphere when you do that for the Cowboys, America’s team. In all that he did for the Cowboys, Elliott became America’s player as a rookie.

According to the NFL Players Association, Elliott became the first rookie to lead the NFL in merchandising. The timeline for it started on March 1, 2016 and ended on February 28, 2017. This is the first time in NFL history that a rookie did such a thing.

If Elliott hadn’t been the guy to lead the way in merchandising this year, it still would have been a rookie. Quarterback Dak Prescott, a fellow rookie and fellow Cowboy came in at No. 2. Also in the top 10 is Cowboys superstar receiver Dez Bryant.

When you’re a star in the NFL wearing the star for America’s team, you become America’s player.
