Cleveland Browns: Draft Review
Sleepers
The most interesting player the Browns selected was Larry Ogunjobi from UNC Charlotte. Ogunjobi was a one year started in High school. He was also one of the first players for Charlotte’s Football program and the first ever to get drafted. Ogunjobi is a physical specimen, those of us that saw his workout video at the combine were made aware of that.
He will need to do a lot of work on his consistency in the run game, as well has being a pro-pass rusher. In college he relied on his gifts a little to much, he will need to work on technique. His lack of experience especially at a high level may set him back early on, but Ogunjobi has the upside to be a really special player in the years to come.
Zane Gonzales might not be a sleeper as much as he is a steal, but ill throw him in here anyway. Gonzalez is one of the most accurate long range kickers in NCAA history.
He showed off at the Senior Bowl further cementing he is ready for the next level. Many scouts noting they had him rated higher than Robert Aguayo last season.
Cleveland lost at least two games last season, due to poor kicking. Shoring up the position may seem insignificant, but it may be a top five need on this team. Adding Gonzalez gives the Browns at least one position, the team they can feel confident about.
