3. DeShaun Watson, Houston Texans

DeShaun Watson is an extremely talented athlete who will have a chance to win the Houston Texans starting job. The Texans made an aggressive move up the draft in order to land his services. They obviously see someone capable of making an immediate impact.

The concern is that he may suffer through some growing pains as a rookie. He is coming from a spread attack that didn’t ask him to routinely make reads. Bill O’Brien will need to tailor his offense to play to Watson’s strengths.

His developmental status has a lot to do with the fact he needs time to grow. It’s also related to Tom Savage being labeled as the starter heading into OTAs.

4. Mitch Trubisky, Chicago Bears

Most feel that there’s a great chance that Mitch Trubisky doesn’t take a regular season snap during his rookie season. The Chicago Bears gave starter’s money to Mike Glennon and plan on giving the veteran the starting job.

This is a good thing for Trubisky who heads to the NFL with only 13 college starts. He needs time to learn the ins and outs of the position. It’s also important that he has time to familiarize himself with an NFL-style offense.

The physical tools and natural accuracy are present for Trubisky to have a bright future. It’s up to Chicago’s coaching staff and Trubisky to take the proper steps.
