15. Carolina Panthers- Harold Landry, DE, Boston College

The Carolina Panthers projected starting defensive ends, Julius Peppers and Charles Johnson, are past their prime. Both players may only have a year left in the tank. Carolina is a defense that relies on its defensive line to lead the charge.

This is a position they will need to address in the near future. Boston College’s Harold Landry would be a great addition at this point in the draft. He as a ton of upside but also brings the ability to be an immediate contributor.

Maintaining talent at the defensive end position will help ensure the team gets the most out of Kawann Short.

Carolina used multiple 2017 draft picks on offensive players, but will need to shift the focus for the 2018 draft. The biggest defensive rookie they added is Daeshon Hall who they over drafted as a 3rd round pick.

It’s possible that the Panthers look to upgrade the left tackle position in next year’s draft. This could be a need despite the fact they just gave Matt Kalil a huge contract. Kalil is coming off back-to-back poor seasons. It’s a stretch to say there’s optimism surrounding his chances of turning things around.
