3. Chicago Bears- Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama

The Chicago Bears are in an awkward situation where they appear to be looking to contend while also going through a rebuild. Their decision to sign Mike Glennon was a win-now move while trading/drafting Mitch Trubisky was for the future.

Taking an honest look at this roster shows it’s a team with plenty of holes. The offense consists of a solid offensive line and good running back, but the receiver position is very suspect. Every receiver on the roster comes with a major question mark.

The Bears need to invest in the position in order to surround Trubisky with the talent to succeed. Alabama’s Calvin Ridley is the type of playmaker capable of making life easier for a young quarterback. Pairing Trubisky with Ridley would give the Bears two cornerstone players capable of growing together. Chicago would have the makings of a big-3 in Trubisky, Ridley and Jordan Howard.

This pick does depend on how the upcoming season goes for Kevin White. Chicago is still holding out hope that the former No. 7 overall pick can reach his potential. However, it’s hard to remain optimistic after two lost seasons due to injury.
