26. Oakland Raiders- Trey Adams, OT, Washington

There were some uneasy Oakland Raiders fans during training camp when Donald Penn threatened to hold out. He’s the team’s top pass protector and a necessary piece if the team hopes to make a Super Bowl run.

Penn eventually reported to camp, but is obviously unhappy with his current contract situation. This will be something that arises again in the offseason. It’s possible that the Raiders move on from the aging Penn in hopes of getting younger and saving money.

The most likely spot for the Raiders to find a replacement for Penn is through the draft. Washington’s Trey Adams is one of several offensive line prospects who are in the late 1st and early 2nd round picks.

Adams is an experienced player who flashes the potential to play left tackle at the next level. I’m not as high on Adams as others, but many see him in range. Personally, he strikes me as someone who may need to move inside to guard or center.

Oakland could also look to find someone to eventually take over for Marshawn Lynch. His long-term status is uncertain at best. It’s possible that this is his only season in Oakland.
