HOUSTON, TX – DECEMBER 28: J.J. Watt

NFL Picks – Jaguars at Texans

There are two ways one could predict the outcome of this game.  One way is that the Houston Texans are so distracted by the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey that they won’t be able to focus on the task at hand the Jaguars can come in and steal a division win on the road.

The other is that the Texans will be so amped up and motivated to win for the people of Houston and the surrounding areas affected by Harvey, that there’s no way the Texans can lose this game.  I’ll go with the latter scenario.

This game is all about emotion.  And the Texans led by J.J. Watt will let emotion carry them to victory.  The Texans know their fans need this win, for just a moment to take their minds off the weight of the situation.

Winner:   Texans

Score prediction:       23-16  Texans

Points spread:      Texans  -5.0

Over/under:  39.5 – Under

NFL Picks
NASHVILLE, TN – SEPTEMBER 25: Marcus Mariota

NFL Picks – Raiders at Titans

The Oakland Raiders had a breakthrough season last year going 12-4 and establishing themselves as one of the contenders for the AFC crown.  This year the Tennessee Titans want to be that break through team and they have the talent to do it.

The Titans Marcus Mariota is ready for a big season.  The Titans have established themselves as one of the better running teams in the league.  But now they must improve their passing game in 2017 and they will.

However, the edge in passing the football belongs to the Raiders.  Quarterback Derek Carr is already at where Marcus Mariota wants to be.  This is shy the Raiders will get this win on the road.  They find a way to scratch and claw their way to this victory.  The Titans will be better this year but not good enough to beat the Raiders.

Winner:   Raiders

Score prediction:       24-23  Raiders

Points spread:      Titans -2.5

Over/under:  50.5 – Under
