NFL Picks – Eagles at Redskins

The Eagles are favored to win this game and I can kind of understand why.  They’ve upgraded their offense in several areas, namely at wide receiver with Alshon Jeffery and at running back with LeGarrette Blount.

However, the Redskins might have the edge on offense although you couldn’t tell by the preseason. Quarterback Kirk Cousins didn’t look in sync with his receivers and the first unit wasn’t putting points on the board.

But that was preseason.  The Redskins offensive line will be better and I think Cousins will out perform Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.  I like the Redskins corners better than the Eagles and I think Josh Norman will win the battle with Alshon Jeffery.

This will be a close, divisional matchup but the Redskins will get the win at home.

Winner:   Redskins

Score prediction:       23-20  Redskins

Points spread:      Eagles  -1.5

Over/under:  48 – Under

NFL Picks – Colts at Rams

With Andrew Luck not playing for the Indianapolis Colts, they’ll go with Scott Tolzien as their starting quarterback.  Tolzien is in his fifth season but has only made three starts in his career.  He knows the offense but this is big drop off from Andrew Luck.

On the other side the Rams will start former number one draft pick Jared Goff.  He’s expected to show progress over his rookie season and new head coach Sean McVay will oversee Goff’s development.

If Tolzien struggles we might see the recently signed Jacoby Brissett for the Colts.  The Rams defense is still without Aaron Donald but with Wade Phillips as the defensive coordinator, I still give the rams defense the advantage over Tolzien.  Rams will win this.

Winner:   Rams

Score prediction:       23-17  Rams

Points spread:      Rams  -4.5

Over/under:  41.5 – Under
