Brandin Cooks vs. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints defense was just torched by the a Minnesota Vikings offense that looked terrible in the preseason.  Sam Bradford looked like a Hall of Famer as he completed passes all over the field.

This bodes well for Tom Brady and Brandin Cooks this week. The New England Patriots will be out to prove that last week’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs was a fluke. More importantly for fantasy owners, Tom Brady will be looking to show he’s not over the hill.

Cooks had a solid performance against the Chiefs and will only get better the more time spent with Brady. He should see even more targets this week with Danny Amendola banged up. Cooks is more than just a deep threat and should become a bigger part of the game plan as the season progresses.

The Saints will try to shutdown Cooks with a trio featuring rookie Marshawn Lattimore, P.J. Williams and De’vante Harris. This group really struggled to contain Stefan Diggs and Adam Thielen of the Minnesota Vikings. It shouldn’t be much of the same with the Patriots in town.

Cooks and Brady are both must starts this week in fantasy football.
