2018 NFL Mock Draft: Week 2 Version
By Jon Dove
21. Tennessee Titans- Vita Vea, DT, Washington
The Tennessee Titans have a very talented roster that should help them make a legitimate playoff run this season. However, the first game of the season showed that their run defense could use a little help. A powerful nose tackle like Washington’s Vita Vea would be a welcome addition alongside Jurrell Casey.
22. Denver Broncos- Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan
Maurice Hurst is quickly becoming one of the more impactful defensive linemen in College Football. He features the size, strength and quickness to consistently make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Hurst is just scratching the surface of his talent at this point in his development.
The Denver Broncos could use a disruptive presence in the middle of their defensive line. They have the edge rushers in Von Miller, Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett. Adding pressure up the middle would only make those guys more effective.
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Chukwuma Okorafor, OT, Western Michigan
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making their season debut this weekend and are hoping to make a playoff appearance. They have the offensive weapons and the defensive talent to make that a reality. However, the offensive line could be a problem area.
Their biggest question mark is with Donovan Smith at left tackle. He is a solid player but has some lapses in pass protection. Targeting Western Michigan’s Chukwuma Okorafor would potential provide more stability at the position.
24. Seattle Seahawks- Jamarco Jones, OT, Ohio State
It’s interesting to see the Seattle Seahawks decision makers continue to ignore their offensive line problems. They seem to feel that Russell Wilson can overcome any issues along the offensive front. However, the overall team’s performance speaks to a different outcome.
Ohio State’s Jamarco Jones would be a welcome addition and immediately their most talented offensive tackle. He’s someone with the athleticism, experience and toughness needed to succeed in the NFL.
