NFL Picks – Dolphins at Chargers

The Dolphins will make their regular season début as their week  one game was postponed due to Hurricane Irma.  The Chargers nearly pulled of the upset on the road on the AFC West rivals the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers return home this week but they’re playing in Stub Hub Center which is a soccer stadium, that holds about 27,000.  So the home field advantage won’t be as good with the smaller crowd.

The Dolphins will have Jay Cutler starting at quarterback.  While he’s new to the Dolphins, he’s not new to Adam Gases’ offense, so he should have some success.  He has a lot of weapons on offense to work with.  But the Chargers can counter than with Philip Rivers.

However, the Chargers have a great set of bookend pass rushers in Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa who will make Cutler’s life miserable.  This will be the key to the game.  Chargers win.

Winner:   Chargers

Score prediction:       27-23  Chargers

NASHVILLE, TN- SEPTEMBER 10: Quarterback Derek Carr /

NFL Picks – Jets at Raiders

This could get ugly.  The Oakland Raiders are one of the best teams in the league with a high-powered offense led by quarterback Derek Carr.  The Jets traded away or released some of their best players in hopes of tanking.

The Jets offense has little to no chance of keeping up with the Raiders .  They could only muster 214 yards in week one against the Buffalo Bills and a mere eleven first downs.  The Jets do have some good players on defense but it won’t be enough.  The Raiders will win this big.

Winner:   Raiders

Score prediction:       33-16  Raiders

Points spread:      Raiders  -13.5

Over/under:  43.5 – Over
