National title ambitions

Darnold has made it public that he wants to regain the glory days at USC. His attitude and love for the college game are plain to see. And, if they can’t pull it off in 2017, it would be a surprise for the sophomore QB to leave for the NFL without bring a title to LA.

The 20-year-old made his ambitions for his team clear in the offseason.

"Talking on Adam Schefter’s podcast he said: “I think we’re really set to win a national championship,” “But first of all we’ve got to win the Pac-12 South, which isn’t easy, and then the Pac-12. But we’re really set on a national championship. We can definitely do it.”"

The ambitious young signal caller is committed to his program and desperately wants to see the job through. A California native, Darnold clearly understands the importance of USC’s success to the fans and the community. He would love to be the man who helps deliver them their first national title since 2004.

With everything considered, Darnold should stay in school.

He has a will to bring a title to USC, his options in 2018 draft aren’t looking ideal and he could end up on a playoff ready team in 2019. Most importantly though, he needs the extra year to develop and better prepare himself for the NFL.
