Teddy Bridgewater is a major wildcard as far his future is concerned. Nobody knows if he will be able to fully recover from his devastating knee injury. It also seems unlikely that he will get a chance to prove his health this season.
His situation reminds me a lot of the one both Drew Brees and Dante Culpepper when through several years ago. The different path their careers went on shows the type of uncertainty surrounding Bridgewater.
It will be difficult for the Minnesota Vikings to choose Bridgewater over Sam Bradford. Despite his own injury history, Bradford has a slightly more predictable future. The entire situation is really tricky for the Vikings.
Bridgewater may have a cloudy future but someone will be willing to take shot on his upside. He was very effective when healthy. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team that could be in the market for a new quarterback.
This would be a high-risk high-reward play that could help get the Jaguars over the hump. Bridgewater also wouldn’t command a high salary which would allow the Jaguars to either keep Blake Bortles or look for another veteran starter.
