Ranking the top 3 young quarterbacks in the NFL
By Luke Drage
2017 has seen the emergence of a number of young quarterbacks who we can now call franchise leaders. Derek Carr and Dak Prescott were the breakout signal callers of 2016.
They have been joined in this category by a trio of rookie and second year players this season.
Carson Wentz, Jared Goff and Deshaun Watson have proven they belong in the franchise quarterback category with stellar play through the first half of the year. Adding this trio to a group that also includes Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota highlights the depth of young talent in the league right now.
Though each of them has had relative success, Prescott is the only one to have a played a postseason game. This will likely change come January with Mariota, Wentz and Goff in prime position to reach the playoffs.
Though he isn’t a seasoned veteran just yet, Derek Carr just misses the cut in terms of qualifying for the ‘young’ category going into his fourth season.
At 26 he beats out these young pups for experience and is mature beyond his years as it is.
With their individual and team successes in mind, how do these young talents stand up against each other.
