3. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off of one of the best seasons in franchise history. Its 13 victories were its most since it won 15 games in 1998, and its trip to the NFC Championship Game was its first since 2009.

What was firmly established during the NFC Championship Game, however, is that the Vikings need superior quarterback play—and Kirk Cousins could provide it.

Minnesota’s greatest strength is an elite defense that should transfer its success from 2017 to 2018. It ranked No. 1 in the NFL in both yards and points allowed per game, with No. 2 rankings against both the pass and the run.

The presence of an elite defense inevitably makes the game easier for whomever is under center, which is reason enough for interest.

Furthermore, the Vikings have two high-quality wide receivers in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, and a productive tight end in Kyle Rudolph. The offensive line could stand to improve, but the combination of defense and playmakers is hard to argue against.

If Minnesota does a good job of solidifying the offensive line via free agency and the 2018 NFL Draft, it could become an even stronger force in the NFC.
