The Jacksonville Jaguars came within a perennial Tom Brady comeback of reaching the Super Bowl. Yet, entering the 2018 offseason, the working theory around the NFL remains that Blake Bortles hasn’t done enough to solidify his place as the franchise quarterback.

It’s possible that the Jaguars will take a quarterback in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but for now, the team looks to improve its offense in a different way.

Injuries ravaged Jacksonville’s offensive line in 2017, but that isn’t a good enough excuse to ignore this glaring issue. Leonard Fournette is a franchise cornerstone, and while he managed to run at a borderline elite level as a rookie, the offensive line needs stability.

With Patrick Omameh headed for free agency, it only makes sense for the Jaguars to invest a draft pick in one of the fastest rising players on the board: Isaiah Wynn.

Wynn played tackle for the Georgia Bulldogs, but he would be more effective inside. He proved as much at the Senior Bowl, where he earned rave reviews for his ability to pick up blitzes and stuff linemen with his strong hands and fluid hips.

By investing a first-round draft pick in a talent like Wynn, the Jaguars would commit to protecting Fournette and Bortles from the pressure they’re going to face in 2017.
