2018 NFL Draft Rumors: Cleveland Browns aren’t high on any QB
The Cleveland Browns possess the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections in the 2018 NFL Draft. There’s a chance that neither will be utilized to find a quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns are currently on pace to possess the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections in the 2018 NFL Draft. As a franchise without a star quarterback, it stands to reason that the Browns will utilize one of those two picks to find that very player.
With the Scouting Combine soon to commence, however, a report has surfaced that may alter the trajectory of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Cleveland selected Deshone Kizer in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Despite his presence, the Browns are believed by most to be a franchise in need of a field general who can change the culture and revitalize the abhorrent offense.
According to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com, the Browns don’t yet believe that any quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft can fill that role.

It’s possible that Cleveland will change its mind in the two months leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, but this could change the trajectory of the entire event.
Four quarterbacks are expected to come off the board within the first 11 picks of the 2018 NFL Draft: Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Rosen. Another two are projected first-round draft picks: Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph.
Due to the fact that the Browns are in possession of two of the first four picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, there’s a rational belief that one will be invested in a quarterback.
If the Browns decide against that approach, they could instead wait until the second round, when it will again dominate the top of the board.
Cleveland is currently in possession of the No. 33 and No. 35 overall selections in the 2018 NFL Draft. As history has shown us, both picks could enable the organization to find a quarterback who can lead its offense out of the depths of despair.
Cleveland finished the 2017 season ranked No. 22 in passing yards, No. 28 in passing touchdowns, and dead last in interceptions thrown with a league-worst 28.
