The Denver Broncos have well-documented interest in free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins. Denver’s star players are now publicly recruiting the 29-year-old.

With all due respect to Drew Brees, the single biggest target on the free agent market is quarterback Kirk Cousins. With the 39-year-old Brees expected to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints, signing the 29-year-old Cousins has become the top priority for a number of organizations.

No franchise is taking a more public approach to recruiting Cousins than the Denver Broncos—a movement led by the players.

Denver reached the Super Bowl in both 2013 and 2015, but missed the playoffs in both 2016 and 2017. The primary issue that the Broncos have encountered has been replacing Peyton Manning as the starting quarterback.

With the world debating where Cousins should sign in free agency, the quarterback himself took to Twitter to ask where he should go next.

One of the most high-profile responders to Cousins’ tweet was Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

This continues what’s been an unapologetically public recruiting process on the Broncos’ behalf.

Sanders and Demaryius Thomas were both members of the roster that won Super Bowl 50. They’ve also endured the erratic post-Manning quarterback era, which has thus birthed their public calls for Cousins to sign in Denver.

Joining them in the recruitment process is All-Pro edge defender Von Miller, who told ESPN’s First Take that Cousins would elevate Denver to Super Bowl status.

Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post provided a transcription of Miller’s comments:

"“He’s just that type of player,” Miller said. “He not only would be a difference-maker to my team, but any team he goes to in the National Football League. It’s an instant upgrade, leadership, he can throw and make all the passes on the field. So, yeah, when you get a guy like that, you’re automatically in Super Bowl contention.”"

It doesn’t get much clearer than that.

Cousins is the only player in the NFL who has thrown for at least 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns in each of the past three seasons. Some question the substance behind the numbers, but in Denver, he’d be complemented by an excellent defense and two high-level wide receivers.

It’s been established that players on both sides of the ball would like to see John Elway and the Broncos bring Cousins on board.
