2. New York Giants

The New York Giants could conceivably select the quarterback who will become the heir apparent to Eli Manning. There are options on the board, but the Giants could look a different direction and trade down to improve the overall structure of the roster.

New York has an abysmal offensive line, horrid running back play, and a defense that needs a cornerback after the release of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

The leverage that the Giants have over the Bills is that they too are in the market for a franchise quarterback. Thus, trading their way out of the running for said player would likely require a signifiant return on the deal.

Buffalo has assets to move, with multiple first and second-round draft picks meaning at least one Round 2 selection could be sent New York’s way.

In this scenario, the Giants could draft an offensive tackle at No. 12 and a running back at No. 22. The Giants could also still be in the running for a quarterback, as well as cornerbacks such as Josh Jackson or Isaiah Oliver and a linebacker such as Leighton Vander Esch.

New York would end up with picks 12, 22, 34, and 56 before picking again at No. 66 in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Buffalo would end up with a franchise quarterback while retaining its second-round selection and the first pick of the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Win-win.
