1. Cleveland Browns

As previously alluded to, the Cleveland Browns have acquired a bridge quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. Considering Cleveland acquired Taylor for a third-round draft pick from the Bills, it stands to reason that the organization isn’t willing to start up a second set of negotiations.

But what if this was the plan all along? What if the Browns told the Bills to trade up and then call them back about a potential move?

This is the ultimate blockbuster, but what if it’s what the Browns intended? Missing out on Saquon Barkley would hurt, but building an offense with LeSean McCoy, Jarvis Landryand Josh Gordon would make Cleveland an immediate factor.

The Browns would still have an opportunity to pick a quarterback at No. 4 overall, and would also acquire the No. 12 and No. 53 picks from Buffalo.

This is a steep cost, but that’s the cost of doing business when the No. 1 overall draft pick is on the line. Cleveland would walk away with All-Pro talent at its skill positions ,a Pro Bowl quarterback, and still own two of the top 12 picks in the draft.

Again: This is an overwhelm cost, but if Buffalo is rebuilding with a franchise quarterback, getting the No. 1 pick won’t—and shouldn’t—be easy.

As for the Buffalo Bills, walking away with the No. 1 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft and retaining most of their picks after that would be a win.
